What Do YOU Want For Christmas?

Here are a couple of songs I enjoy listening to that gets to what we should all want for

Christmas:My Christmas List (Lonestar)

Filling out that Christmas list just every other kid
Dreamin' big, wishing for a lot
A brand-new bike and matchbox cars
A telescope so I can see the stars
A BB gun or a sling shot
Now I can't remember half of what I got

Chorus:But that's what I wanted
That's all I needed
And I wouldn't ask for another thing
I'd be happy, if only
If I could get those few simple gifts
On my Christmas list

Before I knew a few years passed
I was wide-eyed and growing up fast
Started asking for more important stuff
A stereo to turn up loud
A new guitar so I could rock out
And maybe a car, if it ain't too much
Back then, I thought that would be enough

Chorus:
Cause that's what I wanted
That's all I needed And I wouldn't ask for another thing I'd be happy, if only If I could get those few simple gifts On my Christmas list

A few years later here I am
Seeing the world as a grown-up man
Yeah my perspective sure has changed
Wer'e no where close to peace on earth
My new wish for what its worth
Is for the ones I love to be healthy and safe
And all our soldiers come home to stay, I pray

Chorus:
But that's what I wanted That's all I needed And I wouldn't ask for another thing I'd be happy, if only If I could get those few simple gifts On my Christmas list

Grown-up Christmas List (Amy Grant, written by David Foster, Linda Thompson)

Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee;
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies.

Well, Im all grown-up now,
And still need help somehow.
Im not a child,
But my heart still can dream.
So heres my lifelong wish,
My grown-up christmas list.
Not for myself,
But for a world in need.

No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win
,And love would never end.
This is my grown-up christmas list.

As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree.
Well heaven surely knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul.

No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win
,And love would never end.
This is my grown-up christmas list

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth?
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth.

No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end, oh,This is my grown-up christmas list.
