I love Christian fiction, and it comprises most of what I read. What bothers me about it is that it is so geared towards women. The majority of the authors are women, and the writing is geared towards women. The majority of the books have women on the front, though there are some that do not. A male author that used to write for Revell, one of Baker Publishing's imprints, did a 4 book series some years back, and wanted to put guys on the covers, but the publisher insisted on women, except for the 4th book. And the youngest son was such a predominant character in that book that it would have been crazy to put a women on the cover of that book.
There is a Facebook group I am in that is for Christian fiction lovers: Avid Readers of Christian fiction. It is a great group, though the admins run it like it is an HOA. (I am only kind of kidding 😀) One question that is often asked is what books are out there for men, and what are some male authors that write Christian fiction. I am going to list several in this post, and it will definitely not be an exhaustive list, and I will most likely add to it or do another post at some point. I will give some info on the authors, and address the romance angle - some people don't want that in a book.
**There is one author I am leaving out who wrote a very popular book that the title is an old building. I have very strong feelings and beliefs about that book, so I am not listing him. :)
I will first list the ones that I have read and am familiar with. And some of these authors are no longer writing. (I make note of it if I am aware they have not written anything for some time). Some authors listed have only written one book, but I still listed them. And I will link to their websites if they have one.
And since some men - and women - look for books that don't have romance or much romance in, I will make note of that if I can remember.
I thought about making the lists alphabetical, but I numbered and listed them as I came up with them, and it would have been a huge bother to do that. I hope people searching for male authors and/or fiction that is more for men might find some authors to try here. And I spent a lot of hours on this post already. 😎
There is no way every reader will like every author and book they read. Our tastes and preferences are as wide and different as we are as individuals. So when I state I did not care for an author's books, that is nothing against his books, nor does it mean other readers will feel the same way.
1) Charles Martin. His books are very scarce on Christian content, but are clean, profanity-free, and have what is considered a Christian world view. There is little to no romance in his books, but they are usually very emotional. If you are a guy who cries at all, you will most likely do it at some point while reading his books. Website here.
2) Randy Singer. He has not written anything for several years now. I think Rule of Law (2017) was his last. His books are legal thrillers, and are very well written. I have not read anything by him - possible since 2017 - but I don't remember there being much romance in the books. He did something cool in his one book, The Justice Game: He had his readers vote on the outcome, and went with the majority. Website here.
3) James Scott Bell. He is another legal thriller author. Very little romance, if any, in most of his books. And he has not written anything on the Christian fiction for some time, that I am aware of. The last I knew he was dabbling in the secular market, so be aware of that if you check out his books. He also is am excellent author, and I enjoyed any of his Christian books that I read. Website here.
4) Don Brown. Most of his books revolve around the Navy and especially JAG officers. Not much or any romance in most of his books, and his books are very well written. His books tend to be a little more on the deep side, but are still interesting and fascinating reads. He also doesn't write much these days. Website here.
5) Mel Odum. I have not read a lot of his books, but really enjoyed the ones I have read. There is a three-book series Military NCIS that is really good - a little romance, but very light - and a two book military series, Called To Serve: #1 Deployed, and #2 Renegade. He does not seem to have a website.
6) Dony Jay. This author is a police detective in Washington, PA. He has only written two books so far, The Warrior Spy books, but is working on another book. I was impressed with the two books he has written so far. No romance that I can remember. I am friends with him on Facebook, and he seems like a great guy. Website here.
7) James R Hannibal. He is a former stealth pilot, and he wrote a few secular books that are squeaky clean and profanity free before moving onto Christian fiction (The Nick Baron Series). There is just a hint of romance in a couple of his books. He has also written some juvenile fiction. I consider him to be a great author, and have enjoyed anything I have read by him. Website here.
8) Steven James. James is an author that writes for the Christian market, but the books I read had little to no Christian content. He is most well known for his Patrick Bowers Files books, which have chess pieces for the titles of the main part of the series. He went on to write a few prequels. It is a great series, though it is also an intense series. There is no profanity or improper content, and the books have a Christian world view. Website here.
9) Dan Walsh. Dan started out writing for Revell, which is part of Baker. His first several books were not suspense, and some of those probably lean more towards what women might like, but it depends on the guy. One of my favorites of his is titled The Discovery and is written first person POV from a guy. He went independent a few years ago, and has written two suspense series that would definitely appeal to guys not wanting romance or fiction geared towards women. Website here.
10) Mike Dellosso. He has quit writing - I don't think his book sales were high enough for him to continue. His books are different. Definitely Christian, but more like a thriller type book. No website.
11) Richard Mabry. A doctor, Mabry writes mostly medical suspense. Most, if not all, have romance. He no longer seems to have a website.
12) Harry Kraus. Kraus is another doctor who wrote mostly medical suspense. He has not written anything for quite a while (to my knowledge), but his books are really good. Stainless Steel Hearts was one of my favorites. There is light romance in some of his books, but it is definitely not the main part of the story in the ones that I read. Website here.
13) Frank Peretti. His books are definitely different, but most are lacking romance or are very light on romance. His website does not seem to work anymore.
15) Ryan Steck. I almost hesitate to bring this author up. He has three books out so far in the Matthew Redd Thriller Series. The third book is a Christmas e-book that is a prequel to the other two. I have a major issue with his books. Though they are published by Tyndale Publishing, they have a lot of profanity and words that do not belong in a Christian book. Not as much as a secular book, but more than enough. I was actually shocked that Tyndale allowed those words, and contacted them about it. They are very well written, but I bring this author up with that warning. There is some light romance, especially in book two where the main character is married. Website here.
16) Robert Whitlow. Whitlow is another legal thriller author. I personally think his earlier books are better than what he has written in recent years, but that is only my opinion. Others may disagree. I have not read his last several books, but can definitely recommend his earlier ones. There is little to no romance in most of his books that I read. Website here.
17) Alan Sears. I read a couple of his books years ago, and cannot remember much about them other than I did enjoy them. No website that I could find.
18) Craig Parshall. Parshall has written mostly legal thrillers. My favorite books of his are The Chambers of Justice Series, which I have read at least twice. He also co-wrote a series with his wife that I have not read. In the books I read by him there was little or no romance. The main character in the Chambers of Justice Series is married for part of the series, so there is definitely some romance, but I don't remember it being a main part of the story. He does not seem to have a website.
19) Creston Mapes. I think I only read the Crittendon Files Series by him, but I did enjoy it, and there was little romance in the books that I remember. Website here.
20) Chris Fabry. I have only read a couple of his books - they are not the type of books I get into much, but he is a popular author. Website here.
21) Todd M Johnson. This author has not written a lot of books, and I have enjoyed the ones I did read by him. Most - if not all - of his books are legal thrillers. It has been a while since I read one of his books, but I don't remember there being much romance, if there was any at all. Website here.
22) Joel Rosenberg. Rosenberg is a fantastic author. He knows a lot about the Middle East, and it is obvious when you read his books. There is little to no romance in his books, and they are very well researched and written. Political intrigue, espionage, etc. Website here.
23) Davis Bunn (also writes under the name Thomas Locke). In my opinion, Bunn is one of the most versatile authors on the Christian market. His books are just all over the place in genre' and style. I have read books of his that I loved and I have read some that I didn't care for. some of his books have more romance than others, and some have none. Of all the books I have read by him, I liked his Marc Royce Series the best, and is one I would recommend above others for guys to read. There are three books, and they are really good. The main character, Marc Royce, works for the State Department, and I think is former military. I don't believe there is any romance in them at all. Website here.
24) Chuck Holton. I don't think Holton wrote much Christian fiction, though he has written other books for the Christian market. I believe the only Christian fiction he wrote was three book series Task Valor Series. It has been years since I read the series, but I don't remember them having any romance. Though I am not positive on that. They are military/special ops books. I do remember really liking them. He does not seem to have an author website.
25) Ted Dekker. Dekker is another author who writes different types and styles of books. Some of his are more fantasy, and some are thrillers. It is rare for him to have much Christian content in his books, though his books do have a Christian worldview. I found some of his books weird, while really enjoying others of his. Website here.
26) Michael Phillips. Phillips has written a lot of books, and some would appeal to men more than others. I find him to be another author whose books I either really like or some that I am not crazy about. Some of his books tend more to the romantic side while others do not. He does not have a website.
27) Jerry Jenkins. He is also a difficult author to narrow down to one style of writing. He is an author whose books that I have read do not contain much, if any romance. He is well known for The Left Behind Series, but has written a lot of other books. Riven is a book of his that stands out to me. It is an epic read. Website here.
28) Hank Hanegraaff. I believe he only wrote one fiction series, The Last Disciple Series. I enjoyed the series, and I don't think there was any romance. He co-wrote the series with Sigmund Brouwer. He does not seem to have a website.
29) Sigmund Brouwer. I am pretty sure that I read a couple books by him that he wrote solo (he is mentioned above co-writing a series) - but I honestly can't remember what books they were. But I definitely read the series he co-wrote with Hank Hanegraaff. He has written both adult and kid's books. Website here.
30) James Rubart. His books are different, but different good. His first book was Rooms, and was in my opinion his best, though I have enjoyed everything he has written. There's not much, if any romance in his books. I don't think he has written anything solo since 2019. He did write a book series The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone with Susan May Warren and her son David. They combined their names to make the pen name David James Warren. It is a cool time travel book. His website is here.
31) Randy Alcorn. It has been so long since I have read anything by him that I don't remember much about his books, but I am listing him since he is a male Christian author who I have read. He does not seem to have an author website.
32) Murray Pura. I only read one book by him, My Heart Belongs in Gettysburg, PA. It definitely had romance in it. I could be wrong, but I do believe most of his books are more on the romantic side. Website here.
33) Travis Thrasher. He is an author whose writing I find.....different. He has written a wide variety of books. Website here.
34) Andrew Huff. He has only written three books so far, and all three in the same series: The Shepherd Suspense Series. I thoroughly enjoyed the series, and hopes he writes more books. There was just a hint of romance in the books. Website here.
35) Brock Thoene. He has co-written a lot of books with his wife, but has also written some books solo. His Saga of the Sierras Series is like a Western series, and has little, if any romance. Website for him and his wife here.
36) Adam Blumer. Adam writes Christian suspense, and I have enjoyed his books. There is some light romance in some of his books. Website here.
37) Tom Threadgill. Threadgill is an author who doesn't have much, if any Christian content in his books, but they are clean, profanity free, and are considered Christian fiction. He has 5 books in publication. The 3-book Jeremy Winters Series and the 2-book Amara Alvarez Series. I liked the Jeremy Winters Series the best, but they are intense. Personal note: When I bought the series, I bought #1 in the old covers, and was having trouble finding the other two in those covers, I emailed him to see if he had any I could buy, and he sent them to me free of charge. Website here.
38) Tim Downs. His books are not overtly Christian, but he is an excellent author. I only remember hints of romance in a couple of his books. He is best known for his Bug Man Series. He does not have a website that I can find.
39) Mark Mynheir. He is an author who wrote just a handful of books, and I think his last book was published in 2011. He wrote Christian suspense, and I remember them being very enjoyable reads. Mark is a former Marine who's worked in law enforcement over twenty-eight-years. In his career, Mark has served as a patrol officer, an undercover narcotics agent, a S.W.A.T. Team member, and a homicide detective. He does not have a website.
40) Stephen Bly. Bly is an author who wrote a lot of Westerns. Some had romance, but most of the ones I read had little or none. He passed away in 2011, so he obviously has not written anything in a long time. Of note is his Austin-Stoner Files Series. A rare series set in modern day. There is romance, but it is a hilarious series that I have read a couple of times. His wife also writes and wrote some with him. There is a website for both of them here.
41) Patrick Carr. Carr is a fantasy/speculative fiction author. That is not a genre' that I get into, but I did read a couple of his books and they were pretty good. It has been a while, so I can't remember if there was romance. His website is here, but I had no luck getting it to load.
42) Terry Brennan. Brennan has written two Christian fiction series: The Jerusalem Prophecies Series and Empires of Armageddon Series. There were 4 years between the first and second books in the first series. His books are somewhat similar to Joel Rosenberg's and have a lot of political intrigue. He is a great author, and his books have very little romance in them, if any. Website here.
43) Robert Liparulo. This is another author who has not written anything for a long time, and didn't finish the last series he started. Some of his books can be a bit intense, and are not overtly Christian. My favorite series he wrote is actually juvenile fiction: The Dreamhouse Kings Series. He does not seem to have a website.
44) Steve Yohn/Jason Elam. I paired these two guys together because the only books Elam wrote is a series he co-authored with Yohn. Yohn has written other books, but the only books I read by him is the series he co-wrote with Elam: The Riley Covington Series. Spoiler ahead, read at your own risk: It was an awesome series til the end of the last book. They killed the main character off. I was so upset that I emailed the authors and the publisher, and sold the series. Yohn has also written some books with Amir Tsarfati, but I have not read those. I don't think either author has a website.
45) Ray Blackston. It has been several years since I read anything by this author, and I don't remember much about his books. I do remember enjoying them and the books being humorous....but nothing beyond that. Though it does not look like he has written anything recently, he does have a website. Click here.
46) Al Lacy. Lacy is another author who has not written anything in several years, and may not be alive anymore - I can't find anything on him in that regard. In addition to writing a lot of books solo, he co-wrote with his wife on some. There is no website for him.
A couple of notes:
a) He is one of three authors I met in person.
b) He wrote secular Westerns before going to Christian fiction. (His editors would put curse words in some of his books against his wishes). He wrote some of the Stagecoach Series under a pseudonym, and also wrote a 24 book series titled The Badge Series under the name Bill Reno. They were clean and only a couple had a curse word or two.
c) OK - cool story. I had read the whole Badge Series before I read anything by Al Lacy. After reading some of Al Lacy's books in my early 20's, I realized the writing style was similar, and a few plot lines were similar to those in the Badge Series. Knowing he had written secular fiction under other names, I wrote him a letter asking if by chance had had written the Badge Series. He wrote back verifying that he had, and was impressed I had figured it out.
47) Alton Gansky. I don't think he writes anymore, but I enjoyed his books. Some of them were really different and kind of creepy, but enjoyable reads. Website here.
48) Tim Lahaye. He mostly co-wrote books with other authors, and his most well known were the Left Behind Series. There is no website for him.
49) J Mark Bertrand. As far as I know, he has not written anything recently. He wrote some suspense novels that I don't think had any romance. Website here.
50) Billy Coffey. I read one of his books - I think his first one. It just wasn't me. Website here.
51) Gilbert Morris. He passed away in 2016. He wrote a ton of books in his lifetime, some co-authored with others. Most of his contained some element of romance. And he wrote a wide variety of books. My favorites were the Dani Ross Mysteries. There is no website for him.
52) Alan Morris. Son of Gilbert Morris, Allan co-wrote some books, and also did some solo. As far as I can remember, his books did contain romance. There is no website for him, nor could I find a photo.
53) Brian Litfin. I have not kept up with this author, but I reviewed what I think was his first series, The Chiveis Trilogy. Though they were fantasy, I did enjoy them. Website here.
54) Robbie Cheuvront, Erik Reed, Shawn Allen. These three guys wrote a 2 book series titled The 13. I can't see that any of them wrote any other books, so I paired them together. I liked them, and don't remember there being romance. I can't find a photo for Allen. And there is no website.
55) Eric Wilson. I have said this a lot already, but I don't believe this author has written any fiction novels recently. I have only read a few of his books, but I liked them....though they were a bit creepy. Probably his most popular books was the Jerusalem Undead Trilogy. And yes, basically zombies. As bizarre as it sounds, the books were really good. Eric has also written books based on a few movies, such as October Baby and Flywheel. Website here.
56) Bob Hamer. Hamer is a former FBI agent who has written some book solo, and has also co-authored with Oliver North on some of his novels. Hamer has also written some non-fiction books, including The Last Undercover, the story of him going undercover in NAMBLA (North American Man-Boy Love Association - and it is exactly what it sounds like).
I have only read two of his books, Targets Down and Enemies Among Us, two books about a fictional FBI agent named Matt Hogan. He also has a 3 book series titled The Josh Turner Series that I didn't know about. And we are even friends on Facebook. Those are short books, two coming in at 120 pages and one of them at 105. I don't remember any romance, and the books I read are very well written. Website here.
57) Oliver North. I read a couple of his novels a long time ago, and honestly can't remember much about them, other than I liked them. Website here.
58) William Cutrer. This author seems to have only written two books: Lethal Harvest and the sequel to it, Deadly Cure. They are medical suspense novels that he co-authored with Sandra Glahn. Again, I don't remember much about those books. He has no website.
59) A. L. Shields.(Pseudonym for Steven Carter.) Carter only wrote two books under that name: The Church Builder and Wilderness Rising. I don't remember any romance in them. Website here.
60) William Sirls. He only wrote a few novels, two of which I read. They were different, but good. And I don't believe there was any romance. He does not seem to have a website.
61) Michael Landon, Jr. Landon wrote a handful of novels, mostly co-authored. I think all of them were romance or contained romance. I do not recommend reading the Mercy Medallion books, as the series was never completed and the second book leaves you hanging. He does not have a website.
62) Greg Garrett. This author has written mostly non-fiction, with a few Christian fiction novels under his belt. The only book I read by him was The Prodigal, a book he wrote with Brennan Manning, author of The Ragamuffin Gospel. Though fiction, it is a powerful story. He has no website.
63) Grant Jeffrey. (deceased) Known mostly for non-fiction, Jeffrey did co-write a few novels with Angela Hunt, and one with Alton Gansky. I only read the one he did with Gansky, The Scroll. It was a great read, and I don't think there was any romance. No website.
64) William Boykin (General). He has written some non-fiction, but also wrote two fictional titles. He co-wrote The Kiloton Threat and Danger Close with Tom Morrisey. There was no romance that I remember. No website for him.
65) Tom Morrisey. Morrisey co-wrote the book I mentioned above, and wrote a few novels solo. I am not sure that I read all of them, but I do know I read Pirate Hunter, which was a really good book. He also wrote Turn Four, which is a novel about racing. I don't believe there is romance in his books. There is no website for this author.
66) Stephen Aterburn. Arterburn is known more for his non-fiction books, but he has co-authored a few books; Forsaken, written with Mike Moscoe, and is part of the Every Man books. He also co-wrote a few novels with Nancy Rue. No specific website for his books.
67) Fred Stoeker. Also an author in the Every Man's non-fiction series, he wrote one novel, The Hunted, with D. W. Smith, which is also part of the Every Man Series. He is better known for his non-fiction books. Website is here.
68) Cliff Graham. Graham seems to just write Biblical fiction, but it is not your average Christian fiction. I read a couple of his books several years ago, and he is a great writer. He wrote two series, which both have two books in each series: The Shadow of the Mountain Series and The Lion of War Series. They are definitely geared towards men. The only website that came up was for the second series listed, and it was just for subscribing for information about that series.
69) John Bevere. Bevere has only written one fictional book, Rescued, but what a book is is. It is very moving and emotional, and I highly recommend it. Website here.
70) Tyler Edwards. I first ran across this author when I reviewed his non-fiction book, Zombie Church. I just recently discovered he has taken up writing fiction. It looks like he has 3 Christian fiction titles out, with a 4th coming out. There is one standalone title, Shadows of the Dark Realm, and two books out in the Outlands Series. I'm not sure they are something I would read, but I liked his non-fiction title well enough to try his fiction. And I definitely recommend Zombie Church, even though it is non-fiction. Website here.
71) Davie Mac. An author I recently discovered. He has 4 books out in the Blake Moran Series. The books are hilarious, and the series does have a little romance in, and a couple inappropriate words are tossed around in one of the books. Website here.
72) Caleb Breakey. He has only written one fiction novel, The String. It was a cool book, and had no romance that I remember. His website is here.
73) Zachary Bartels. His books are different (I say that a lot) 😃 but I enjoyed them. No romance that I can think of. They are a bit on the spooky/creepy side. Kind of if Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker had a kid together. 😎 His website is here.
74) Jack Cavanaugh. Cavanaugh wrote an epic series that he started in 2010 titled The Family Portraits Series. The books are about a fictional family that starts with The Puritans, and goes up through the current day with book #9, the Guardians. The books are long - book #1 is 513 pages, and I think they are all around the same length. He also wrote some other books besides those. There is some romance, but it has been several years since I read them, so I can't remember how much. His website is here.
75) Robert Tate Miller. I only know of him writing a few Christmas novels, and there is definitely romance. As I was looking him up, I discovered he just passed away in July of this year. In addition to writing books, he also wrote some movies. There is no website for him.
76) Don Hoesel. He is another author I didn't get into much, but others like him. His website is here.
77) Jake and Luke Thoene, sons of Brock and Bodie Thoene. They have written together and separately. I am not sure about the romance aspect. As far as I can tell, Luke only co-wrote with Jake. They did an adult historical trilogy together titled Portraits of Destiny.
Jake did write a series by himself, The Chapter 16: Waging War on Terror Trilogy. I read them years ago, but cannot remember anything about them. The book descriptions don't sound like there is romance.
The brothers also wrote some kid's books together.
There is no website for either of them. Or pictures of Luke I could find. The pic below is of Jake Thoene.
78) Mike Yorkey. He has a lot of non-fiction books, and has two Christian fiction novels he co-wrote with Tricia Goyer: The Swiss Courier and Chasing Mona Lisa. The first came out in 2009, and the second three years later, so I cannot remember much about them. His website is here.
79) Donn Taylor. I read a few of his books and they were pretty good. I think there was some romance in the ones I read. His website is here.
80) Ace Collins. Collins is best known for his non-fiction books. He has written books about the stories behind traditions of Christmas, the songs of Christmas, etc. But he has also written several great Christian fiction titles, most of them being suspense. My two favorites of his are Darkness Before Dawn, which is a great novel about forgiveness, and Jefferson Burke and the Secret of the Lost Scroll.
I don't remember much, if any romance in the books I read of his, but there are several I have not read. His website is here.
81) Brandt Dodson. Christian suspense author. I read a few of his books years ago, and unfortunately can't remember anything about them. I know....very helpful. 😊
His website is here.
82) Wil Mara. I reviewed this author's first book way back in 2013, Frame 232. It is a fictional account of the shooting of JFK. What is funny is the author doesn't believe there was a second shooter, but I was convinced there was after reading the book.
He contacted me a few years ago about reviewing another of his books, but never got back to me.
And of interest - at least to me - he put part of my book review on his website. 😎
His website is here. My review is close the end of the reviews under Thoughts of a Sojourner on this page.
That is the only book I read by him, but he has others that look really good.
83) Shawn Smucker. I only read one, and don't remember any romance. His style of book just didn't appeal to me. Website here.
84) Shawn Grady. This author wrote a three-book series from 2009-2011. I think I reviewed all three. I don't remember much about them, but I do know I enjoyed them and gave them a good review. As for romance....I have no idea. He still has a website, even though he has written nothing since 2012. His website is here.
85) Tony Ross. I reviewed a few of this author's books - a lady who was in an author's Facebook group actually asked me to review them, and bought them and sent them to me. I only read his four-book series, Shadows of Sunlight. They were different - there is that word again - but I did enjoy them. He does not have a website, but there is at least one other author by that name, so I am linking to his Amazon page here.
86) Randall Arthur. I have enjoyed the books I read, but he is an author that seems to write with an agenda. And I'll leave it at that. His website is here.
87) David Munson. He seems to have only written one book solo. He co-wrote a series with his wife, Diane. I read most - or all - of that series, and I do remember enjoying the books. As for the romance, I am not sure of there was any. Their website is here.
88) Michael Farris. Farris is an author who wrote a few legal thriller type books way back in the late 90's. It isn't easy to find them, and he has no website, so I will list all of them here. I do remember them being excellent reads: Guilt by Association, Anonymous Tip, and Forbid Them Not.
89) Jerome Teel. Teel is an author who wrote only two books that I can find, both of them being legal thrillers. They were published in 2006 and 2007, and I cannot remember anything about them. I still have the books, so that means I liked them. 😎
The Election (2006) and The Divine Appointment (2007). There is no website for him.
91) Gary Parker. I read a few of his books years ago, and can't remember anything about them, other than the fact that I liked them. I in fact forgot I had read anything by him until I looked him up.
I am intrigued by his Southern Tides Series, which I did not read.
Link to his Amazon page here.
Link to his author page at Simon and Schuster here.
92) John Fischer. Another author I didn't realize I had read before. Saint Ben (1993) and The Saints and Angels Song (1995). I remember the first book being pretty funny, but the books were also sad.
His Amazon page here.
Honorable female mentions (Two female authors that I believe almost any guy would enjoy)
a) Ronie Kendig. Ronie mostly writes military fiction, and does it very well. Her Breed Apart trilogy is a great series about military working dogs. There is a new series starting that is an off-shoot of that series, A Breed Apart Legacy. There is one book out in that series so far. She also recently did an excellent series on human trafficking: The Metcalfes. Check out her website here.
b) Jeanette Windle. From Amazon: As child of missionary parents, award-winning author and journalist Jeanette Windle grew up in the rural villages, jungles, and mountains of Colombia, now guerrilla hot zones. Male authors that I have not read.
Some of these I don't know much about, and some I know nothing about. Some were mentioned in the Facebook group I referenced. I put an asterisk by any author I know nothing about, and most likely saw listed in the Facebook group I am. I will link to websites if I can find one.
1) Rick Acker. From Amazon: Rick Acker writes novels during his commute to and from his "real job" as a Supervising Deputy Attorney General in the California Department of Justice. His unit prosecutes corporate fraud lawsuits of the type described in the #1 bestseller, WHEN THE DEVIL WHISTLES, which award-winning author Colleen Coble describes as "a legal thriller you won't want to miss!"
Rick has led investigations and lawsuits that made headlines in and out of California. Most recently, he and his team won a string record-breaking judgments and settlements against the Wall Street players who created the toxic mortgage securities that triggered the Great Recession. Before joining DOJ, Rick was a senior litigator at Bingham McCutchen, where he worked on high stakes litigation, including a fight between two owners of the San Francisco Forty-Niners and a multibilllion dollar international fraud case. Rick has law degrees from the University of Oslo and the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with honors. In addition to his novels, he is a contributing author on two legal treatises published by the American Bar Association.
When Rick isn't writing or lawyering, you can usually find him with his wife, Anette, and their four children. They'll be exploring in the hills east of San Francisco, watching a good movie together, or, of course, reading. You can visit him on the web at www.rickacker.com

4) Jess Lederman. I only know of him by his commenting in the Facebook group I mentioned. Possibility of bad language. In his own words: "I'm a guy who writes Christian-themed fiction, but doesn't always follow the "rules" for main-stream Christian fiction. Those rules (for example, no strong language) are a big part of what defines the books this group focuses on." Website here.

9) *Reg Quist. From Amazon: Reg Quist's pioneer heritage includes sod shacks, prairie fires, home births, and children's graves under the prairie sod—all working together in the lives of people creating their own space in a new land.
Out of that early generation came farmers, ranchers, businessmen and women, builders, military graves in faraway lands, Sunday Schools that grew to become churches, storytellers, musicians, and much more. Hard work and self-reliance were the hallmark of those previous great generations.
Reg’s career choice early in life drove him into the construction world. From heavy industrial work to construction camps in the remote northern bush, he emulated his grandfathers—who were both builders, as well as pioneer farmers and ranchers. His heart was never far from the land, and his family photo albums testify to how often he found himself sitting on a horse—both as a child and later into life.
Respect for the pioneers, working alongside skilled workmen, marrying his high school sweetheart, and welcoming children into the world all melded together to influence Reg’s life and belated writing career. Over and under—and wrapped around his life—is Reg’s Christian heritage. This too, shows itself in his writing.

10) *Ken Pratt. From Amazon: Ken Pratt is a husband, father, and grandfather, and in his spare time he writes Christian based novels and some children stories too. Ken was raised in the small farming community of Dayton, Oregon, where he learned the value of having a strong work ethic among other small-town values.
Ken lives in Lincoln City, on the beautiful Oregon Coast with his wife of twenty-four years, Cathy. Together Ken and Cathy have raised five children and now have six Grandchildren.
When it comes to Ken’s philosophy about writing books, he says, “I don’t think it takes a PHD or a Doctorate Degree to figure out life can be unfair.” And that is what he writes about. Simply put, Ken writes about real life issues in a western setting in the rough and wild Pacific Northwest. However, he never set out to be a writer, he worked full time and wrote late at night for seven years to complete his first book, Willow Falls. He wrote it because he enjoyed writing and for the purpose was to show how God works in our lives even when we do not see it until we look back. When Willow Falls was completed, he began writing the follow-up book, Sweethome. Those two books started Ken Pratt on an unexpected pathway of being a full-time author of the Best-Selling Matt Bannister Series.
Men and women of all age groups and walks of life are enjoying this exciting, fast paced, action packed series full of heart, tears, and humor. But do not take our word for it, read some of the many reviews and see what people are saying about Ken Pratt and the Matt Bannister Series for themselves.

Years of travel and the colourful characters encountered around Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the United States filled young Tobin with vivid experiences and far too many stories to tell. Writing was for too long a pass time opposed to a profession.
A near death experience in 2010 meant a long convalescence, providing time to finish some of those many stories.

21) *Pat Patterson. From Amazon: "I am a paramedic, an educator, and a family man who has been richly blessed by the LORD. And I write about what I know. So if my stories are gritty, a little fast, colorful, and full of adventure, it's because that's my personality. I've been there, on the water, in the woods, and on the street, with dying people in my arms, and that has left a deep impression on my heart.
But at the end of the day, I'm just a simple paramedic with a lot of stories to tell.
"Answering the Call" is a collection of short stories written as devotionals to encourage my 1st responder friends.

23) *Ernest Dempsey. From Amazon: "I love history. Always have, as long as I can remember. And I also love literature. Same story with that. Most of all, I love archaeological thrillers like the ones I grew up watching in the 1980s: the Goonies, Indiana Jones, stuff with a mystery and a good treasure hunt. Now I live in the most amazing dream where I get to write those kinds of archaeological thrillers for a living.
I've also always had a fondness for Fantasy and Science Fiction. So, if you snoop around my catalog you may find a few of those stories too.
I attended Southern Adventist University from 1995-2003, earning a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters in school counseling. In my heart, however, I've always been a storyteller, an entertainer. So, after twelve years of working in the school system, I quit my job to write full time.
I've learned over the years, both in writing stories and in my experience, that life is unpredictable.
Cliché, I know.
But people crave a little predictability now and then, when the good guys win and the bad guys get their comeuppance. The most important thing, both in books and in life, is that the end can be easy to predict so long as the journey isn't. You may know how a story will end, or at least have an inkling, but if you don't know how it gets there, then that unpredictability makes it fun.
That's how I approach storytelling.
So, if you like twists in stories, you'll find them here. All along the journey. And maybe occasionally at the end. But one thing is certain; you will never be bored.
Come on this journey with me. I promise I will always work hard to honor your valuable time with exciting action, baffling mysteries, and intriguing history.
Join the adventure, and get four free stories on my website at www.ernestdempsey.net."

So, when he began writing stories to supplement the school district’s curriculum, it was his students who taught their teacher a lesson. Batson’s students were so taken by one of the stories that, over a thirteen year span, they pushed him to make it into a full-length novel. That story became The Door Within. Since then, Batson’s students continue to be his frontline editors. Says Batson, “Two things you can count on from middle school students: Intelligence and Honesty. Kids are so much more perceptive than a lot of us ‘Big Folk’ give them credit for. And when something’s not write in the story, they’ll tell you about in very clear terms.” Batson is teaming up with author and friend Christopher Hopper for a new book series, The Berinfell Prophecies. The first book, Curse of the Spider King, hit bookstores in October 2009. It promises to turn the traditional “portal fantasy” on its head, posing the question: What would happen if the fantasy came to us? Batson believes his books appeal to so many kids and adults because, at a deep level, we all long to do something that matters, and we all dream of another world.

48) *Dante Lupinetti. I couldn't find much of a bio about him, so here is a description of one of his books....which sounds really good:
"What if you could see the state of someone’s soul, know their inner truth and detect their every lie? Zeke Jackson is a young, mild-mannered reporter with a checkered past who discovers he has such an ability. Is it demonic or divine? The CIA classifies him as a touch-enabled psychometric. Zeke doesn’t do psychic. The CIA doesn’t care where he gets the power. They’ve been experimenting with psychics for decades. Zeke has choices: he can ignore his power and live a normal life, milk it for fame and fortune, or risk everything and use his ability to uncover assassination and terror plots for God and country. A Christian thriller-ish fiction with a little bit of Stephen King, a splash of Jack Ryan, a dash of Frank Peretti and a hint of Ted Dekker."

59) *Steve Wilson. From Amazon: "In my day job, I'm a multimedia designer, and I have worked in advertising for over 25 years. I served in the Marines during the 1980s, and I'm now a senior NCO in the Air Force Reserve, deploying to Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan, in addition to tours in the United States, Germany, and the Pacific, and I've visited the former Soviet Union several times.
I've read a lot of the biggest names in the thriller genre. I like to think my books are different. Many authors don't realize how important faith is to members of our military, especially those deployed to the war zone. The protagonists in The Michael Neill Adventures are men of faith, and while they live out their religion, the books aren't preachy. I've also attempted to make the books character-driven, with attention to the locales. I stay true to the technology mentioned in the stories without getting bogged down in the details."

I couldn't find author photos that would download, but there are a few on his website. And his books look really good.
