Ronie Kendig will keep you on the edge of your seat in book one of her new series, Quiet Professionals.
His mission.
His team.
Captain Dean Watters keeps these parts of his life in laser-like focus. So when hackers threaten both his mission and his team, Dean's Special Forces training kicks into high gear. Ten military super-secure computers are missing---which if opened, would give America's enemies a blueprint of US military intelligence. Failing to stop the hackers isn't an option.
Zahrah Zarrick is a missionary teacher to Afghan children in Mazar-e Sharif. She's also a target. Her expertise in quantum cryptology makes her an unwitting pawn in the hackers' deadly game. They're coming for her, and Dean and his team must stop them.
Before the team can get to Zahrah, she disappears. Now Dean must race to rescue her and stop the hackers from unleashing terror on millions across the globe. But to do so, Dean will be forced to crack open the steel box around his heart---a move that might come at the highest cost.

My review:
Ronie Kendig is still a fairly new author on the Christian market, but has got out several books in the few years she has been writing. She quickly became one of my favorite authors, and I have devoured and enjoyed everything she has written, and she just keeps getting better and better with each book she writes.
This book, the first in The Quiet Professionals Series, is no exception. It has everything her books have become known for: suspense, realistic action, great and believable characters, great plot and setting.
Some of the characters in this book were in Ronie's last series, The Military War Dog Series, but I don't think you would have to read the other series before reading this one.
As with any book Ronie writes, I loved Raptor 6. This was a book that pulled me in and made me feel I was there in Afghanistan watching the action unfold, and there is a lot of action. It is obvious there was a lot of research done on the area of Afghanistan and Muslim customs and beliefs. I have never been in the military, but the descriptions of soldiers, their actions, and maneuvers sure sound real to me, even though it is a fiction novel.
The book has a strong Christian element, even though the main character doesn't seem to be a Christian. And there is no miraculous come-to-Jesus moment in the book, but yet the he seems to be heading that way.
There were some torture scenes in the book, but they were not overly graphic or descriptive.
I came away from the book entertained, and with a greater appreciation for our military. Ronie always has a disclaimer about not wanting to portray them wrong, and she has no worries. She not only writes a great fiction book that is clean and Christian, but does a great service to our military by giving us a small glimpse into what they might be going through as they serve and protect our country.
